Day 7 - New Mexico to Arizona - 347 miles

Another longer day (comparatively) so left at 6am

We were concerned about the smoke, so I looked up the fires and was relieved to see that going up to Gallup, enabled us to avoid the wildfire road closings. The fires were on the Zuni reservation/preserve. Something I hadn't thought about until it was literally in my face.

Each trip, there are more and more fires to avoid as we cross the country.

Fortunately, there were several rain storms, hopefully, they made it to the dry fire areas.

There was no 50 amp at the RV park in Santa Rosa (but at least there was hot fudge), so we did not charge overnight, so...

Stop 1

Santa Rosa Holiday Inn Express - Tesla Supercharger

40% to 100% - 34 minutes @33¢/kWh for total of $18.68

Stop 2

164 miles to Albuquerque, NM by 9:28am

Elevation 6500 feet

Tesla Supercharger at a public parking lot

20% to 85% - 37 minutes - 36¢/kWh

Stop 3 (scant notes)

Milan, NM - Tesla Supercharger $15.25

Had lunch (Tuna, chips & pickles)

Stop 4

Walmart, Gallup, NM Electrify America

Very cramped location, even though it was a head-in, we had to unhook trailer to fit

52% to 90%  @56¢/kWh, but at least it was very fast and was a quick charge

Next time, we will have a sign tht says "Tow Vehicle Charging" to go with our traffic cones, so explain why the trailer is parked, while we charge.

OK RV Park, 1576 Roadrunner Road, Holbrook, AZ is in Navajo country and all kinds of large pieces of petrified wood everywhere.

This place was very nice, but very expensive. The ONLY park to charge us extra to plug in the car ($25), so the night was $80.

In the future, when not in a hurry to get to California, it might be a good spot to stay a couple of days--even though it's expensive.
