Days 10 through 12 - Bakersfield, CA to Henk & Vernon's backyard in San Jose, CA

First full day in California. Now, we can chill.

The drive was pretty easy. Only 241 miles and the weather was cooperative.

We discovered that we can track each trip in this part of the interface, so we will be clocking the trip home to see if our average range savings compare to the overall usage. We'll keep "Trip B" as the total and compare and try to beat the overall average.

Stop 1

Coalinga, CA

Solar-powered Tesla Supercharger with dozens of stalls and all working great. was at a Shell gas station (somebody got smart). It was nearby a Harris Ranch.

15% to 100% - 46¢/kWh not bad for California where the gas was around $6 a gallon-yikes!

Stop 2

Gilroy, California Had to unhook (no further notes, other than the above blurry photo) The charge was to 90% and the cost was $21.38

3 day visit with our good friends Henk & Vernon. I have been friends with Henk for 51 years, and Vernon for over 30 since they met.

That's Bryan on Henk's lap.

We park the trailer in their backyard, where they even have septic access since they also have a trailer.

They were getting ready for Morro Bay trip in a couple of weeks.

After 30 years together, they got married last March and decided to have a reception next month so we are flying back to celebrate with them. Thank goodness we were able to get a house/cat sitter again so soon.

I love these guys so much! It's fitting that they are our first (family) stop in California. These boys are my brothers.
